Luke 1:45
“And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.”
Faith in God’s promises often requires us to step into the unknown, trusting that He will accomplish what He has spoken. Yesterday, I experienced this truth in a way I never anticipated. As I prepared for my first book signing, I was filled with nervous anticipation. The idea of reading my stories in front of others was daunting, and for a moment, I questioned whether I had the strength to go through with it.
When the event began, the turnout was small. One familiar face, my dear friend Ashley, greeted me with warmth and encouragement. Shortly after, two other women joined us—strangers I had never met. Though the audience was small, I felt God’s presence in every moment. As I read excerpts from my book, I discovered that those nervous feelings were replaced with a quiet confidence as I shared the journey of faith that brought me to this moment.
During my time with the three women, I was able to have a meaningful conversation about faith and life. While many people would have considered a book signing of only three people a failure, I considered it a huge success. Writing my book was never about just selling books; it was about touching hearts in hopes that my stories would lead people closer to God.
By the end of the event, those two women purchased copies of my book. Luke 1:45 showed me how words that were spoken to me a couple years ago about writing a book to touch the life of just one person had come to fruition. God assured me at that moment that true success is not measured in the numbers of books that I sell, but in the opportunities to plant seeds of faith.
There may be times in life when we feel discouraged by what appears to be a small beginning or an unmet expectation. But as Luke 1:45 reminds us, the blessing lies in believing that God will fulfill His promises. Trust that what He has spoken over your life will come to pass, even if the journey looks different from what you imagined.
