Faithful With What I’ve Been Given

1 Peter 4:10

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

When I reflect on this verse, I can’t help but think about the ways God has entrusted me with gifts – not for my own recognition, but for His glory. He has given me the passion and ability to minister to women, to teach and mentor, and to write words that point back to Him. These gifts do not belong to me, nor are they for worldly gain. They have been placed in my care by God, and I am called to steward them for His glory.

There have been seasons when I struggled to believe my gifts were enough, often finding myself comparing them to the abilities of others who seemed more gifted or influential. Yet 1 Peter 4:10 reminds me that each of us has received something specific from God, and that He doesn’t waste anything He gives. When I step into my calling to mentor women, when I teach a Bible study, or when I write words of encouragement and truth, I’m not just doing something “useful.” I’m allowing God’s grace to flow through me to help other women grow stronger in their faith.

And trust me when I say, they is nothing more joyful when I witness a woman grasps a deeper truth about God through Scripture, when she shares how a lesson has helped her trust Him more, and when she begins to walk in freedom because His Word has spoken into her life. In those moments, I’m reminded that my gifts are never about me. They are about building up the body of Christ, one life at a time.

Using our gifts faithfully is an act of worship. When I surrender my writing, my teaching, my mentoring to the Lord, He multiplies them in ways I could never orchestrate on my own. What might seem like a simple conversation, a page of words, or a Bible study session becomes a channel of God’s grace that encourages, heals, and strengthens another woman’s walk with Him.

My prayer is that I never use my gifts to build my own platform or to satisfy the world’s standards of success, but always to point others to Jesus. Because when we live this way, our gifts not only glorify God but also help His people stand firm in faith.
