Encouraging Others

Romans 1:12

“When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.”

I am a huge Jennie Allen fan and in 2020, when the opportunity to attend a two-day IF Gathering conference presented itself, I jumped at the chance of attending, despite it being an hour away from my home.

The conference began on a Friday evening and after the first day concluded, I raced home and rewatched the videos of all the speakers that I had seen that day. For me it was life changing to see all these women pouring into other women.

The next day, after the Saturday portion of the conference concluded, I raced home once again to rewatch the videos of all the speakers that I had seen that day. In all, I must have watched all the video sessions at least three times, some even four or five times. Once I had finished watching everything, I knew in my heart that I wanted to be like these women. I wanted to be able to pour into others and encourage them and thankfully God heard my desires.

Since 2020, I have had the privilege of co-hosting three women’s conferences. I have had the privilege of facilitating multiple women’s Bible study sessions at my church. I have had the privilege to watch the Holy Spirit work in the lives of the women that I have encountered and I personally have experienced God moving in my life miraculously, giving me the wisdom, knowledge, words to lift up and encourage others, as well as opening my mind and heart to receive hope and encouragement from those around me that share faith in Christ. And I pray that through this platform and through other opportunities that God presents before me, that I will continue encouraging others and be a witness to God’s glory as He continues to change the lives of others and my own life.

Romans 1:12 truly is such a great reminder for us the importance of sharing our faith journeys with others, and that we are not to live life in isolation. To me, this is the beautiful aspect of Christian fellowship -lifting up one another and encouraging each other – ultimately helping each sister and brother in Christ grow spiritually. This my friends is indeed life changing!
