The Gift of Freedom

Galatians 5:13

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh, rather serve one another humbly and in love.”

Freedom is a precious gift, one that invites us to pause and consider not just what we are freed from, but what we are freed for. As fireworks crackled in the night sky and laughter drifted from backyard gatherings, I reflected on Paul’s words in Galatian 5:13 that reminded me of a deeper freedom provided to us – one that is anchored in Christ.

Independence in Christ is inseparable from dependence on Christ. Only by leaning on His strength can we resist the pull of self-indulgence and instead become vessels of His grace to those around us.
