Ecclesiastes 11:7
“Light is sweet, and it is pleasant for the eyes to see the sun.”
There is nothing more beautiful than watching the sun rise, especially when it is over a body of water, like a pond or a lake or an ocean. There is a timeless beauty about it that always brings a smile to my face. Whenever I am on vacation at the beach, I always make sure to set my alarm early in the morning, so I can rise, head outside and watch the sunrise. As I sit on the beach with my coffee in hand, I marvel at God’s glorious splendor and embrace the warmth of the sun on my face.
Since Joe and I moved into our new home, we are blessed to live on a five-acre lake. I do my best to rise early every morning, so that I can walk out onto our deck, greet God, and watch the sunrise over the water. Ecclesiastes 11:7 captures this moment perfectly and invites us to pause and appreciate the simple yet profound joy that comes from witnessing the sun rise. For me, the sun rising symbolizes the promise of a fresh start filled with hope, renewal, and opportunities.
As we embrace the warmth and radiance of the sun, we are reminded of God’s unwavering love and grace that illuminates our lives. The light of the sun serves as a reminder of God’s presence as He guides us through the darkest of times. With each sunrise, we get to witness the faithfulness of God’s blessings. It is a wonderful reminder that no matter what trials we may be facing, there is always a new beginning on the horizon.
In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to overlook the beauty of a sunrise. From the moment we wake up, we are on the go, getting caught up in the hustle and bustle of our daily routines. However, taking a moment to witness the sunrise can be a powerful reminder of God’s sovereignty.
As you reflect on Ecclesiastes 11:7, consider how you can incorporate the beauty of God’s light into your daily practices. Perhaps it’s setting aside time each morning to watch the sunrise or seeking out opportunities to share the light of kindness and compassion with others. By embracing the warmth of the sun, we can cultivate a radiant heart that shines brightly in all aspects of our lives.
